Overview and Recent Events

My recent job experience is as a technical writer and test engineer.

During the past eight years as a technical writer, I contributed to on-line help systems, maintenance and user manuals; edited system requirements, typically for software development projects; edited and managed development documentation; diagrammed and described IT processes and policies; prepared requests for proposal; and mapped a data center.

I also worked more than 12 years as an engineer testing and troubleshooting electronic equipment (radar and telecommunications), most recently along with technical writing duties in the demonstration of a prototype weather radar system (the Next Generation NOAA Profiling Network). . In addition, I have developed and sold K-12 remedial materials for math and science, which included several years of tutoring.

Related personal projects include writing my first novel (with a sequel in progress), writing short fiction and poetry, and researching long-term potential population growth.
